On this page, I’ll try to provide a solution to one of the most common errors in Stremio.
Stremio closes while I’m playing content. Stremio crashes.
If Stremio closes while you’re watching a movie or a series, I recommend you watch it through VLC. VLC is a very comprehensive, open-source, and free video player that you can download from here:
Select your operating system, as shown in the image above, download and install it on your computer.
Now, to solve the problem, simply open Stremio, play the series or movie you were watching and that was giving you trouble, click on the menu with the three dots at the bottom right, and then on the option “Watch on VLC”, as shown in the following image.
The VLC program will open, and Stremio will remain in the background. If you were watching your multimedia content with subtitles, they should appear in the VLC menu under “Subtitles”, as shown in the image.
If they don’t appear, you can search for them on a subtitle download website, download the file with the subtitles of the corresponding movie or series, and use the file with the “.srt” extension. Simply drag and drop it onto the VLC program (while playing the video you’re interested in), and they will activate automatically.
